Instructions for Activation vary depending on the version of GPS-Photo Link you have.
There are three versions: Version 4.2x, Version 4.1x, and Version 4.0x and earlier. It does not matter whether you purchased Standard or Ricoh edition.
Check your version by opening GPS-Photo Link and clicking the About and Registration or Activation button. The screen above should show the version number in the upper right hand corner.
How to Transfer 4.1x or 4.2x license
You can easily transfer the license to another computer without contacting GeoSpatial Experts. Begin by downloading
the software to the new computer. In most cases, each license is only able to run on one computer at a time.
To Transfer the license automatically you must have internet access. Click “Transfer License” on the original computer. That will “deactivate’ the software on your computer freeing up the serial number to be entered on another computer. Next, type the serial number into the new computer where prompted.
NOTE: You may not transfer a license away from and then back to the same computer on the same day. If you do you will see the error: The Activation code you input has already been used once. It can not be used again. Please contact your vendor. If you get this error, you can wait a day and it should work again. If you continue to get this error contact our office. We can reset your password.
NOTE: If you originally activated your license "Off-Line", you will need to "deactivate" the license "off-line" as well by contacting GeoSpatial Experts. We release your serial number so that another user can use it to activate the software on their computer. Email the number to help@geospatialexperts.com or cal l303-255-2908.
How to Transfer 4.0x license
You can easily transfer the license to another computer, without contacting GeoSpatial Experts. Begin by downloading the software to the new PC. When you run it, the screen will say that you have an evaluation copy and give you a serial number. Write this number down. On the original PC, when you bring up GPS-Photo Link you will see an "About" button at the bottom. Click this. When you do it will show a registration button. Click there and you will see one of the options on the left as “Transfer to another PC”. You will enter the serial number from the other PC in the space provided. When you hit the transfer button it will generate a new unlock code for the new PC. WRITE THIS DOWN before selecting OK!! Otherwise it will go away and never be seen again. Finally, type the new unlock code into the new PC where prompted and you are off. The first PC will be locked and the second PC will be unlocked.
